This grouping covers the National Parks and Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty in the Pennines (North Pennines, Yorkshire Dales and Nidderdale) plus, as an overlap with the next-door grouping to the south, the upland area bounded by Hellifield, Ilkley, Halifax and Burnley. Hadrian’s Wall forms the northern boundary.
