There are many established walking routes in London, and new ones are being constructed — whether in the mind or on the ground — all the time. Here are some of the ones I have walked, and therefore about which I can pass judgement. Such comment is, of course, highly subjective, and others are bound to have different ideas of joy and challenge, but here is my review of these routes.
The routes described here may be divided as follows:
- National routes (including quasi-national London routes)
- Local routes developed by London councils
- Personal routes of my own creation, with full details and directions
As well as the individual routes, the personal routes include collections of walks which I have developed or am developing:
