Green Walks out of Southampton

Southampton’s transport tentacles stretch out to west, north and east (we leave the Isle of Wight to its own areal group, though much of the island is readily accessible from Southampton).

  • Avon Valley Path
    A 55km walk between Salisbury and Christchurch, following the course of the River Avon.
  • Clarendon Way
    A 39km walk between Salisbury and Winchester.
  • Hangers Way
    A 36km walk between Alton and the Queen Elizabeth Country Park beside the A3 near Buriton.
  • Itchen Way
    A 52km walk between Hinton Ampner and Sholing station, following the course of the River Itchen.
  • St Swithun’s Way
    A 54km walk between Winchester and Farnham.
  • Shipwright’s Way
    A walk of 88km between Bentley and Portsmouth.
  • Solent Way
    A 97km coastal walk between Milford-on-Sea and Emsworth.
  • Test Way
    A 77km walk following the River Test between Inkpen Beacon and the Solent.
