A walk of 83km between Exford and Starcross.

Public transport connections (16 locations) are available at Exford (to/from Minehead or Dulverton) and at key staging points between Dulverton and Starcross. There is no bus service to Withypool.

Observations

There is an “extension” to the walk in order to incorporate the source of the river at Exe Head. However, the extension is actually the Two Moors Way route between Withypool (not Exford!) and Exe Head. This means that you will need good planning for the northern end of the walk, probably involving a taxi (based in Minehead or Lynmouth) or some other private arrangement.

Walkers should also note that there is a significant proportion of the route which is on roads. For the most part, these roads are local country lanes, but there is some B-road walking (and even short stretches of A-road) to be borne.
