Greater Manchester Boundary Walk

Greater Manchester Boundary Walk

A walk of 222km encircling Greater Manchester.

From the conventional start-point at Woolley Bridge, the route passes through Wilmslow, skirts the airport, and passes Ashton-in-Makerfield. before taking to the northern heights through Ramsbottom and over Blackstone Edge, and returning to Woolley Bridge. Public transport is plentiful except in the rugged moorland in the north, where it is merely adequate. The final section may be broken at Greenfield.
