John Muir Way

A walk of 213km walk between Helensburgh and Dunbar. The length rises to 230km if you include the eastern extension to Cockburnspath.

The route may be completed using public transport links (77 locations). Glasgow, Falkirk and Edinburgh make the best cases for base-station status, though Linlithgow has been used successfully.

Observations

The 30km gap between Balloch and Strathblane may be ameliorated by taking the cyclists’ alternative route via bus stops at or near Croftamie, Killearn, Killearn Mill and the Glengoyne distillery.
