A circuit of 43km from Newcastle via Castlewellan and Tollymore.
The Newcastle Way (NI) is sponsored by WalkNI.
This circuit takes in the coastline and the forests of Castlewellan and Tollymore, grazing the northern tip of the Mourne Mountains. Buses are available at Castlewellan (also limited accommodation options), and the Mourne Rambler bus, which runs a circuit from Newcastle around the perimeter of the Mourne Mountains, stops at Tollymore. You will need to check tide times for Newcastle, since the anti-clockwise route out of the town may be covered at high water.
