South Dorset Ridgeway

A 27km walk from West Bexington to Osmington Mills, away from the coast.

This inland route is actually part of the original coast path, and is thus classified as a National Trail, but it has been largely superseded by the actual on-the-coast route via Weymouth and Portland. There are bus links at Swyre (for West Bexington), Abbotsbury, Elwell and Osmington, each of which is between 1km and 2km from the route.

Observations

With the minimum required walk-in and walk-out, the total distance will reach 30km, with another 5km if you make a loop between Abbotsbury (for bus and accommodation) and West Bexington.
