Shropshire Way

A 296km walk around Shropshire (plus a couple of fields in Wales).
Public transport connections (43 locations) are available at key staging points, albeit with the need for careful planning in the south and in the north-east of the county. Shrewsbury may serve as a base station for much of the route.
There are two extras to the circuit route — a link route at Haughmond in Shrewsbury to create northern and southern loops, and a spur to reach Whitchurch in the north-east.
Haughmond link
This walk of 8km, linking Haughmond and Shrewsbury, forms the “central belt” of the Shropshire Way. Public transport links are available within Shrewsbury and its suburbs, but not at the Haughmond end.
Whitchurch spur
A 17km walk between Whitchurch and the Shropshire Way, providing a link with the Sandstone Trail. There are public transport connections along the route, but not at the point of junction with the Shropshire Way.
