Chiltern Railway Walk — East of Birmingham

Leamington Spa to Birmingham Snow Hill (42.42km; 462m ascent)

The section from Leamington Spa to Birmingham Snow Hill makes much use of the towpath of the Grand Union Canal, along with streets and parks; this makes for easy walking on the flat land.

The route passes through Leamington Spa and Warwick beside the Grand Union Canal or the River Avon, then eases into the quiet canal-bank countryside as far as Lapworth. It then takes to the fields as far as Widney Manor, passing through Dorridge (where supplies are available) and crossing the M42 on the way. Between Widney Manor and Birmingham, the route is a mix of parkland, streets and canal towpaths — the stations are close together and there are numerous bus stops to fill the gaps. The section ends with the shortest stage of all, between Moor Street and Snow Hill stations in Birmingham.

All sections in this group await final checks, after which the directions will be published for those so checked.
